Judicial Experience
I have 20 years of judicial experience. I was twice elected to the 55th Civil District Court serving from 1991 to 1998. From 1998 to 2009, I continued presiding over cases as Senior Judge Sitting by Assignment in the Civil, Criminal, and Family District Courts, County Courts-at-Law, and Justice Courts in Harris and surrounding counties. In November of 2008, I was elected the first woman Judge of a Harris County Probate Court by the highest margin of any candidate or incumbent in a county or district judicial election.
Legal Experience
I have more than 30 years legal experience. I graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1979. As a student, I was Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the Law Journal and competed in Moot Court.
Qualified - Board Certified
I am Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. I am Certified as a Special Judge pursuant to Texas Practice and Remedies Code section 155 and I am a Certified Mediator and Arbitrator.
Trusted
While a Judge in Civil District Court, my peers statewide elected me President of the Texas Association of District Court Judges. The Texas State Senate recognized me for my service to the people of Texas. Also, I was named “Woman of Excellence” by the Federation of Professional Women.
